FEBRUARY 2026.
THE APPEARING OF DAFFODILS

Weather wise, February can often be the coldest month here in Guernsey. Yet we need look no further than to the appearing of Daffodils to know that it is also month of hope. Apparently, there are about 40 different varieties of Daffodils that have been grown in Guernsey over the years. The worldwide Church is living through some pretty dark days, faced with storms on every side and from within. Yet fresh signs of hope keep appearing despite the storms. Around the world, we’re seeing local church families drawing together in love and unity; and we’re seeing people who are tired of living in a so-called “post-truth society” beginning to return to church or try church for the first time. Most of all, in every true church in every place, no matter how cold and dark these days might be, we always have the eternal hope that is ours in Christ Jesus. So friends, let’s see what God has done, and is doing in our day, and let’s be filled with Christ-Centred Hope. Having called the Thessalonians to stand firm on God’s Word, Paul writes the following benediction in 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17. I hope that you will remember these words every time you see a Daffodil this February. “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.” Amen.

One in Christ
