APRIL 2026.
THE APPEARANCE OF THE SON

With the sun having made its Springtime appearance, the Guernsey farms around the Chapel where we meet are abuzz with ploughing and planting. At times like these, I joyfully think of God’s Genesis 8:22 promise to Noah: “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Of far greater importance than the appearance of the Springtime sun (as wonderful as the Springtime sun may be), this month we set our gaze towards the Son who appeared in Jerusalem, first in triumphal procession riding on a donkey, and then in humble anguish as He was lifted on a cross to die with a crown of thorns upon His head. And yet, that wasn’t the end because the Son appeared again, having risen from the tomb! While the glory of the sun will cease, the glory of the Son will shine forever and ever, (Revelation 21:23; Revelation 22:5). Let’s be thankful for the sun this April, but much more, let’s be thankful for the Son.
