THE COLOURS OF AUTUMN.
September brings the anticipation of a marvellous display of colour as the Master Painter transforms the greens of summer into shades of reds and golden browns. What a glorious Creator we have! May we regularly be moved to worship within our hearts as we bask in the beauty of autumn this September. Along with the natural colours of autumn, for many, September also signifies a colourful change of pace as work or school is returned to and regular routines are re-engaged. Others begin an entirely new adventure of one kind or another this September. It is good to know that the same God who created the beauty of autumn remains with us through every season, and regardless of what kind of September we might be anticipating, He will be with us in every experience that September will bring. He loves us and will be at work within our lives in ways we cannot even fathom. So then, in response to His great love, whether we are strolling down a golden lane, sweeping piles of leaves, or starting a new adventure this autumn, my encouragement would be that we do “not grow weary of doing good,” as Paul writes to the Galatians in Galatians 6:9, for, just as the hard working farmer reaps a harvest in the autumn, “in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” As we consider the good work that God has called us to this September, let’s freshly resolve to live every moment for His glory.
